For many years, this site has been one of the few places you could

go to learn details about a 10th Mountain veteran’s service.  The veterans themselves spent almost 10 years assembling a comprehensive list of names of everyone who served with the Division – from 1941 through 1945, including combat replacements.  It has been estimated that this may be the most complete database of any WWII combat unit ever – more than 99.5% accurate.   We still offer this service, but we’ve been able to make it even better.

The database is also in the hands of the Western History staff at the Denver Public Library,

and an archivist handles requests for information augmented with thousands of files from the Tenth Mountain Division Resource Center.  The result is that a request from a family member to this archivist can result is one of the most complete personal histories possible.

That said, these records ONLY APPLY TO SERVICE WITH 10th MOUNTAIN DIVISION.

To start a veteran’s research project, send an email to our staff archivist,

including the veteran’s name, last known address and any other information you may have.  Army Serial Number (ASN), laundry number, birth date, birth year or units assigned

can be a great help if you know them.   What other unit has an archivist who can do this?

It takes time to do this research – please give Keli at least 7 to 10 business days to respond.

Additional research also takes time, so patience can be a help.

Once you have your veteran’s ASN, you may want to contact

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)

To see if they have anything more on file.
